still wodering after all these years about the meaning of this "reality"
in which humans run around, not looking particulary happy or alive or connected...
for me personaly my body can be a drag. with its needs, requests etc.
the spirit wants to fly. the body hardly catches up. i can feel the life, but the physical
is soo slow to respond, heal, or connect. Lord have mercy, shine the light upon the flesh!
amen...

Re: sometimes truly unhappy on planet Earth
Mon, September 24, 2007 - 1:24 PMSometimes my body seems a bother, too. With its desire for food, for example, always wanting to taste more. And sex seems a bother, too. I could really care less about that. Of course throughout my life men have cared, so I still have to deal with that. And now I'm engaged to a wonderful man, so don't want to hold out on him in that way. But really, the body can be such a bother.
I have found over the years ways to engage my body to my benefit, though, to appreciate it more. There are many things one can do in a body that one cannot do otherwise. One of my greatest earthly joys is to teach my body how to do unusual sports, in my case, flying trapeze. Now that's a fun thing to do with one's body! -

Re: sometimes truly unhappy on planet Earth
Mon, September 24, 2007 - 1:33 PMACIM has an interesting perspective on this.
On the one hand the body as we ordinarilly experience it--
we use it for separation. On the other hand we can use anything
for love if we choose, or put in Course terms-- we can allow the HS
to guide us into loving use of anything.
A friend of mine just yesterday was speaking of a finger gesture that
one sees on busy California highways when somebody is cut off
as a "loving gesture". :-) We could live in a world where we could
interpret the finger as "wow somebody wants to share something
beautiful and fun with me!" -

Re: sometimes truly unhappy on planet Earth
Thu, November 15, 2007 - 5:10 PMThat's really, funny, Mark. I always just make up a story when people are rude on the road to amuse myself, like, Oh she really needs to get home quickly because she forgot her preperation H today, etc.

Mon, November 12, 2007 - 6:54 PMYes, I have felt just as you have at times. ACIM help me through some dark moments. I realize now it has been 15 years since i last studied ACIM. Amazing how fast life goes by when you have children.
Peace.
