"All abilities should therefore be given over to the Holy Spirit, Who understands how to use them properly." Chapter Seven, Healing as the Recognition of Truth
Has any one actually done this? What ability did you "hand over?" What was your experience after you did? Do you think it was for your own learning, or to help teach others?

Re: Holy Spirit
Sat, November 11, 2006 - 11:50 AMInteresting question.
I think what's meant here is a reiteration of a core lessson:
"I don't know what this is for" Since we humans typically
use our skills and abilities to prop up our self image--
in course terminology we're wageing war. If we, moment
by moment step into the not-knowing state we can become
inspired by the love within us to use all that we are to make this
instant a holy one and make the person before us a holy relationship.
Its not like giving the HS our skills and abilities happens once.
Its choosing love moment by moment. -

Re: Holy Spirit
Mon, November 13, 2006 - 8:33 AMThank you for your response, Mark. I still believe the passage is refering to specific abilities - even if it happens moment by moment - and would like to hear about other people's experiences. Anyone? -

Re: Holy Spirit
Tue, March 20, 2007 - 7:26 PMHi,
To be perfectly honest, I am not sure what my abilities are. But when I do, I will turn it over to the HS and get back to you. lol
In the process right now of doing nothing, just letting the ego slip away. Going though lesson 54 right now and as everyone knows here...it's a review. Thank goodness, although, I am shocked by one thing. A lot of stuff that use to bother me, doesn't.

Re: Holy Spirit
Tue, March 20, 2007 - 9:31 PMThe not-knowing state of Mind is a wonderful thing.
That's where you are open to the Possibility that
you Abilities are as Infinite as your Source. One of
your most important abilities is to chose to offer
a Holy Instant to each person you encounter. In
that instant, the inconceivable becomes real;
just in the same way your little willingness over
the last 54 days has produced such shocking results. -
-
Re: Holy Spirit
Wed, March 21, 2007 - 3:16 AM:) Lesson 54 was not reached in 54 days. Pardon my feeble attempt here to explain this. My path is one of being a Gnostic. Being ever vilgilant not to become a franatic nor a starry eyed believer in anything. Questioning everything or seeking first proof or witnessing before accepting anything within my spiritual fiber.
Thus not proceeding to another lesson until experiencing profoundly and personally the one I was on. Or having a question answered about something. Example being, Jeffe's direct experience or journey which explain or at least outlined for me exactly what ACIM meant by co-creators and our competition with God concerning same.
As for the Holy Instant...not quite sure what the ACIM's definition of that is. You say share it...I have had instances when...well...is it when one goes into a spiritual vastness, feel excessive love, body unable to move, surrounding environment disappears, time meaningless (and because of the vastness space is meaningless too). I may have stayed in this kind of condition if it wasn't for someone in family coming along and shaking me back. Was told in OTO that I had experience Samadhi. Is that the Holy Instant? And how does one share it? I have shared Samadhi by carrying over the happiness to others and being ever mindful when dealing with others that true happiness is more real than the present sadness. Always trying to relate it in the ever endless sense of humor way. Cause that was felt also.
ACIM has helped me to speed things up concerning my search to reach a constant state of Samadhi. After each lesson (when experienced personally) I can feel it around the edges of my being.
However, there are no neutral thoughts impacted me in one day. Two miracles happend that day. Put me in spiritual spin. LOL...gave witness and testimony to the truth of ACIM.

Re: Holy Spirit
Wed, March 21, 2007 - 9:10 AMQuite a few things in this post. I appreciate your authenticity
to completly get it before moving on. I felt the same urge
when I did the lessons, but then I realized that it would take
at least 7 years to complete the lessons, and I simply didn't
want to wait ! The Workbook doesn't telly you how to do it, it
just says use the "thought experiements" sequentially. The
willingness to "reconsider all my thoughts about everything"
is enough for what ACIM calls HS to guide us into happy dreams
which lead ultimately to waking up from out Human hypnosis.
So although there's no one way to do this, i recommend working
the lessons in tandem with others. I think just regularly attending
a group that discusses their experience of doing lessons helps
reduce the risk of our egos using spiritual experiences to miss
the point completely. This is a course in relationship as the path.
If we try to do the course alone, well-- I think we're off track.
And that you are unsure of the meaning of Holy Instant suggests
that you haven't done much course yet because that is a core idea.
So a Holy Instant is when you see a brother or sister completely
independent of your ego-self's projections. You see them as they
really are A Holy Child of God. In that recognition both of you are
healed, because in that instant you both are Whole, you are Savior
to each other. In that instant you recognize that there is only one
Holy Child of God and you (that Child) are undiferentiated from your
Source. Another name for this experience is Love. Is Love ever excessive?
The genuine article is always Total.
So relating to wht you say: "ACIM has helped me to speed things up
concerning my search to reach a constant state of Samadhi. After each
lesson (when experienced personally) I can feel it around the edges of
my being." I'm wondering why search for what is right in front of you,
in each person you encounter? I'd suspect that the "search" is the reason
why you can only identify two miracles on a rare day when there are any.
Maybe revisit the 50 principles... because miracles are commonplace,
ordinary. If they aren't something is off. -

Testimonial
Thu, March 22, 2007 - 1:45 AMThanks Mark for that definition of the Holy Instant. Lesson 21, "I am determined to see things differently". was when the Holy Instant was felt. Co-worker at work that day (whom I have had many a office politics encounter in the past) once again ticked me off. At that moment I felt like yelling at her, started to plot ways in which to get back at her and then...the lesson came to mind. After repeating the affirmation, something happened...I saw God within her and everything within me drained away. I saw God in everyone that day. Tears of joy came and went all day as feelings of happiness stirred within my heart and stomach. For the next three lessons after that (and those are the lessons that indeed went quickly lol) tears of joy. A definite shift in perception. Since then work as been an absolute joy, she still does things that seem mean, but its nothing really. Nothing to be upset about because it's not real what she is experiencing, doing or feeling. In fact, sometimes I offer to get her something to help calm her down, like coffee or ask is everything ok can I help.
Once again...my thanks for the definition. It's just sometimes ACIM needs to be defined for me. As for joining a group, when the time comes. Right now, I may be moving within the next three to six months. Have to see how things flow.

Benefits of HS
Tue, March 27, 2007 - 1:20 PMFrom my friend Karl:
When we ask (and allow) the Holy Spirit to take charge
of everything, our relationships with our brothers and
sisters are directed inward to the truth we share.
When we direct everything outward, nothing can be
shared because we are directing ourselves toward
separation. But when we let the Holy Spirit guide us
inward toward Truth, our true Selves and Oneness, we
find what has always been true. We find the true love
we share with all our brothers and sisters and find
the reality that has always been and will always be.
We find the holy ground where perfect love, peace and
joy abide deep within our unified selves. We make
this shift in consciousness by having faith in our
brothers and sisters, seeing them as they really are,
whole, and one with ourselves and all of creation. In
this state of Oneness, this state of mind, nothing can
enter to separate us from the peace, love and joy we
share in reality with our brothers and sisters. This
is Heaven, our true state of being. We are in it
right now. It is our choice whether we are aware of
it or not right now. What's keeping you from making
that choice and seeing the Heaven all around you right
now?

Re: Holy Spirit
Fri, February 8, 2008 - 6:31 PMMaybe you are thinking about this. Years ago I joined a group to explore and one of the exercises was "Consider the possibility that what you think is wrong with you, what you hear over and over that you 'do' wrong is really what is right about you." Talking 'too much' is what I always heard, so I considerred it and decided to express myself as a communicator. I committed to spirit that i would be willing to say what someone needed to hear without attachment. It was amazing what came out of my mouth that I did not understand, and the reactions were also amazing, usually who ever the 'message' was for did not know who delivered it. That was a great lesson in remaining unattached to the outcome of my commitment.
Similar to reiki teaching, no attachment to outcome, just be the conduit for the energy.

Hi Cathy,
When I look just above that to paragraph 3, I see it says,
"The ego does not want to teach everyone all it has learned,
because that would defeat it's purpose. (separation) (specialness)
Therefore it does not really learn at all."
"The Holy Spirit teaches you to use what the ego has made, (not created)
to teach the opposite of what the ego has "learned." (the opposite of separation)
"The kind of learning (what the ego thinks it's learned) is as irrelevant as is the particular ability that was applied to the learning."
Then in paragraph 4
"All abilities should therefore be given over to the Holy Spirit, Who understands how to use them properly."
I think the key might be the " the particular ability applied to learning".
What abilities do you apply to learning?
While you can give everything over to the Holy Spirit, the emphasis here is on
"the particular ability applied to learning."
I apply perseverance, focus, study, discipline etc. to learning something.
These abilities I give over to the Holy Spirit as often as I can remember to. : ) -

Re: Holy Spirit
Sun, February 10, 2008 - 7:55 AMTeaching and learning, like giving and receiving
are one and the same. ACIM says we are always
teaching and learning. Like Emerson says it is not
so much by what we say but by who we are being--
we teach what we are and everybody around us
learns what we think of them. The key point is
whether we regard ourselves and others as
the very Christ and Savior. When we enter every
relationship of any kind from an infinite perspective
we are being a healing influence and being
miracle workers. -
-
Re: Holy Spirit
Sun, February 10, 2008 - 3:42 PMI not sure about using "one and the same", as a way to say it.
I think the Course says, "to give and to receive are one in truth".
The chapter referred to in this post was on pg. 117, Healing as the Recognition of Truth.
I was commenting on the way the Course teaches the lesson she inquired about.
I'm not sure who your referring to as Emerson, or what you mean by an infinite perspective.

-
Re: Holy Spirit
Sun, February 10, 2008 - 7:41 PMI do indeed paraphrase ACIM.
"One in truth" can only mean
catagorically One. ACIM does not
distingush any real existant
non-oneness. Therefore, giving
*is* receiving; learing *is* teaching.
We learn learn by teaching, we receive
by giving and lastly we both give and teach
by Being. The Emerson to which I refer is
Ralph Waldo Emerson, the trancendentalist
unitarian theologian and poet.

RTRRT – A Last Word
Copyright © 2007 by Klaudio Zic, all rights reserved. www.lulu.com/astrology
In closing our RTRRT series we wish an encompassed issue to your own dignified pursuit. We know where it will lead you since we have been there ourselves and still are.
It was comparatively easy and fun to master the RTRRT and instant magick. Everyone can do it with a little faith, that is clear vision. Luckily there is not so many people who believe in miracles. There is even less that believe in themselves and quite a few that believe in GOD. That makes our company modest. Some will immediately grasp the concept and develop it but some will nag and fail. That is the way with the force. The uncalled will triumph while the aficionado will stumble. The ways of the LORD are unfathomable.
The end of all pursuit is the dissolution of selfishness much as in the Lord of the Rings.
Could we add a little charm? to our statement :|:|:: to serve in dark times as it served us, too. When war and Satan, corrupt men and inorganic are upon you, hold fast to faith (yes we know the pursuit will lead you there). In becoming a great man of honesty and might you will tend to absorb the adventures of great men of the past. You will find many references to the Holy Bible within our own publications, especially those whose birth happened during the hard year 2007. Our own fight, doubt and clearing are recorded within the publications that are waiting for you. You do not know which one but we are positive that your own publication is waiting for you and will find you.
There will be some repetition, even error, uncharted paths and inconsistency. Some will regret bitterly having embarked upon such a straight but also hardly fathomable path. We can not possibly alleviate your own burden since in doing so you would lose your own way, your responsibility and dignity. Selfishness is the bitter fruit of false ego that has to be eradicated at all cost. Only after such pristine distillment one can transcend egotism.
When there is no consciousness of a separate self what emerges is empathy and unity. One is one with all life.
The real time reality rendering tools will serve as baptism into a mystical experience of GOD even as false ego falls into the trap as hidden within the very techniques. One will ultimately intuit that techniques may serve as ladders to faith but faith needs no techniques.
Where faith is present, techniques do not hold sway. Where there is lot of ritual there is lack of faith. Perhaps this is the lesson for the Hamites and even the best of all.

Re: Holy Spirit
Fri, February 8, 2008 - 11:26 AMYes, I do this. I hand over my abilities to the Holy Spirit.
When in my awareness I remember the light then the Holy Spirit is more likely to use me and my abilities for It's purpose, including miracles.
Sometimes my awareness is only of the limited world around me and so at those times miracles cannot flow through me. I am still working towards being able to see in the light more consistently.
The miracles that the Holy Spirit performs through me may not be apparent to me. It may use my day to day abilities such as where I work, who I run into that day, what words I say to them, things I might not notice myself as miracles. I do believe that sometimes actions or words spoken have led to miracles for others. Usually no one can point it out as a miracle because it could be a coincidence.
When seeing with the awareness of light, with the awareness of the Holy Spirit, and having the willingness to let the Holy Spirit use our abilities to make miracles possible for others, miracles do happen. They may have happened to me as well. I'm sure they have, I just don't recall a good example to bring up.

Thu, July 24, 2008 - 11:35 AMGreetings Christie!
I have a great example: You created a miracle of love through simply coming from your heart in sharing what you just did, through simply Being Here. I recognize your great Integrity! :) Heh.
